Return to Freedom's Inaugural Spirit of the Horse Benefit

David Midthunder emceed our inaugural 'Spirit of The Horse Event' October 29, 2005. The Medicine Shield Dancers and Drummers performed and engaged the crowd before the movie "Spirit Stallion of The Cimarron" was shown under the stars.

Medicine Shield got their start in the summer of 1988 in Utah. It first started out as a drum group with seven members. Within two years it had grown to twelve to twenty four members. The group started performing for elementary schools around the area of Salt Lake City and Provo Utah and eventually into many powwows in the surrounding areas.
